Türkiye's space research institute TÜBİTAK UZAY is developing GEZGİN-1, a high-performance platform for micro-satellites under 75 kilograms. The satellite is planned to launch in the last quarter of 2028.

It will carry high-resolution multispectral cameras and on-board image analysis. Its main jobs will be precision farming, monitoring plant health and crop yields, mapping, tracking land-use change and environmental monitoring.

It will also follow ship traffic at sea by combining images with vessel tracking data. GEZGİN-1 continues a line of national observation satellites that began with BİLSAT and RASAT and continued with İMECE and GÖKTÜRK.
